Donald Simpson Sr. led the Simpson family construction firm through its mid-twentieth-century period, joining the company in the 1950s after a Virginia Tech engineering degree and Korean War service. Under his leadership the firm continued the regional construction work begun by his father Clarence Simpson Clarence Simpson Founding brother of (1924) and the construction patriarch of the four-generation Simpson family of Alexandria.
