Jason Yates is the second-generation principal of the Alexandria automotive and commercial-property business his father John Yates Person John Yates d. 1989 Navy veteran and Alexandria service-station owner. Purchased his first service station in 1964 and the Braddock Road Mobil station in 1977 — the property his sons would later … began with the 1964 purchase of a service station and continued with the 1977 acquisition of the Braddock Road Mobil station. With his wife Loren Yates, Jason led the redevelopment of that long-blighted property into Yates Corner, a LEED-certified commercial development completed in 2013 anchored by Lena’s Woodfired Pizza & Tap (named for his late mother), Yates Drycleaners, and a 7-Eleven. The family business operates with approximately 150 employees and runs the “Give Your 2 Cents” charitable program (established 2017). Jason and Loren are co-inductees of the Living Legends of Alexandria.
